What you do, day to day
- Build billing and payments code that is idempotent by construction.
- Design append-only ledgers and reconciliation engines with full audit trails.
- Integrate Stripe for subscriptions, metered usage, and reconciliation.
- Run pricing changes in shadow mode before any customer is charged.
- Write deterministic money math, by hand, and test it hard.
What we look for
- Five or more years in backend engineering, ideally with payments exposure.
- Deep Postgres knowledge: indexing, transactions, migration safety.
- A careful temperament. You double-check the things that touch money.
- Comfort saying a model does not belong somewhere, and meaning it.
